Tiffany features a same-sex couple alongside opposite-sex couples in its latest ad campaign, a big move for the world's most recognizable jeweler.
"Will you promise to never stop completing my sentences or singing off-key, which I'm afraid you do often? And will you let today be the first sentence of one long story that never, ever ends?" reads the ad,
USA Today reported Saturday.
The one-page spread caused moderate buzz on social media, with many Twitter users praising it.
According to a Tiffany & Co. spokesperson, the couples featured in the "Will You?" campaign are real-life couples shot by fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh in New York.
There is, of course, a wedding shot, and couples are also featured on a city rooftop, at home on the couch, and driving in a convertible. The two men featured in their portion of the ad are on the verge of tying the knot in real life, and presumably wear the platinum engagement rings featured in the ad.
"Nowadays, the road to marriage is no longer linear and true love can happen more than once with love stories coming in a variety of forms," Tiffany & Co. vice president of North American PR said in a statement.
"The Tiffany engagement ring is the first sentence of the story that a couple will write together as they create a life that is deeply intimate and exceptional, which is the message we hope to convey through this campaign."
The 178-year-old jeweler is not the only big consumer brand to feature same-sex couples in its advertising in recent years, as Target, J. Crew, Gap, Banana Republic, and more have done so.
After Florida lifted its gay marriage ban last week, same-sex couples now have the legal right to marry in 36 states and Washington D.C.
