Tiger Woods will be dealing with very different kinds of courses next year when the golf star opens up his first restaurant in South Florida.
According to the Palm Beach Post, The Woods Jupiter: Sports and Dining Club will sit in Harbourside Place, a new $150 million entertainment complex in Jupiter.
Tentative plans call for an early 2015 opening of The Woods Jupiter, a 5,900-square-foot restaurant that will feature a valet parking roundabout and outdoor seating.
"I envision a place where people can meet friends, watch sports on TV and enjoy a great meal," Woods said in a statement this week. "I wanted to build it locally where I live and where it could help support the community."
The rest of Harbourside Place will begin filling up this month, with the opening of the 179-room Wyndham Grand Jupiter hotel, the Post noted.
"I couldn’t be more excited to have Tiger’s new establishment operating within Harbourside Place," said developer Nick Mastroianni, president and CEO of Allied Capital & Development of South Florida. "It's gratifying to see the final stages met with support from local, national, and international organizations such as Mr. Woods."
Woods is currently taking a break from the world of professional golf after missing the cut at the 2014 PGA Championship. He'd been struggling to get back on track ever since undergoing back surgery in March.
"I've been told by my doctors and trainer that my back muscles need to be rehabilitated and heal,"
Woods said in an August statement on his website. "They've advised me not to play or practice now."
He plans to play next in December at his annual World Challenge tournament at Isleworth in Orlando, Florida.
