Tim Tebow, who has not played in a regular season NFL game since 2012, was drafted onto more fantasy football teams than actual Jaguars starting quarterback Chad Henne, and that's saying a lot for Tebow Nation.

In case some have forgotten how fantasy football works, a drafted player has to actually play for an NFL team in order to score and contribute points to one's fantasy team each week. Since Tebow is not currently on an NFL roster, it's virtually impossible for him to help a fantasy team in any meaningful way. But that hasn't stopped his loyal fan base from drafting him anyway.

Chris Chase, of USA Today's sports blog "For The Win" points out that maybe the fantasy players out there just aren't that crazy about Henne, seeing that even Henne's rookie backup, Blake Bortles, is on more teams (5.3 percent) than Henne (0.8 percent).

But to select a quarterback who is not even in the league over others has got to be the ultimate sign of disrespect — or a sign that fantasy owners haven't done their homework. Kyle Newport of the Bleacher Report tried to break the news to Tebow fantasy fans gently.

"Tebow hasn't played in a regular-season game since he was a member of the New York Jets back in 2012, and he hasn't even been on an NFL team since the summer of 2013. Yet fantasy owners are still willing to take a chance on him," Newport wrote Tuesday. "Fantasy owners can do what they want, but having Tebow on your team right now may not be the best strategy for winning."

Chase noted other former NFL players that have been drafted into ESPN's fantasy league, including Terrell Owens (0.8 percent), Randy Moss (0.7 percent), and Aaron Hernandez (0.6 percent). Yes, Hernandez, the former New England Patriots tight end who's currently sitting in prison awaiting trial on multiple murder charges, was drafted by nearly as many ESPN fantasy football owners as Henne.
