One of country singer Toby Keith's several restaurants has a tax debt of more than $252,000 after New York state levied a new tax warrant against his I Love this Bar & Grill location in Syracuse.
Keith's Phoenix-based chain has 16 locations in 12 states, with five more restaurants on the drawing board,
reported The Associated Press. The establishments usually come with a guitar-shaped bar, beer poured in mason jars and large plasma televisions.
The bar and restaurant at Destiny USA was slapped with more than $107,000 in new taxes this month, piling on what the restaurant already owed from the fourth quarter of 2013,
according to the Syracuse Post-Standard.

The Syracuse location, which remains opens, has been plagued with rumors of a shutdown for months because of its mounting debt, reported the newspaper.
The restaurant was one of the first major tenants in Destiny USA's expansion section that opened in 2013. The honky-tonk themed restaurant hosts a live DJ and music, including past performances by country singer David Nail and Keith himself.
Keith's restaurants made their names on such traditional southern American food bar staples as chicken wings, ribs, mashed sweet potatoes and creamed corn brought to customers by its Whiskey Girls waitresses.
Just last year Keith graced the cover of
Forbes magazine as the county music's richest man earning more than $500 million over his 20-year career. The magazine reported in 2013 that Keith collected $65 million during its 12-month survey from 2012-13.
Forbes reported that Keith has never earned less than $48 million a year and has written a No. 1 ranked country hit every year for the past two decades. Overall, the country hit-maker was ranked No. 43 on Forbes list of "world's most powerful celebrities," which was topped by Oprah Winfrey.
