Toddler Missing in Idaho for Week Being Tracked by Dogs

Nearly a week after 2-year-old DeOrr Kunz Jr. went missing while camping with his family in Idaho authorities said they were bringing in police dogs to help with the search.

The Lemhi County Sheriff's Office also said it had brought in a specialist from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, reported Reuters.

Authorities thought the search might be over when a possible sighting was reported at a nearby Walmart, but officials later confirmed it was not the missing child. They now hope the dogs will be able to pick up any scent the child may have left behind after wandering off from the campsite at Timber Creek Reservoir last Friday.

Sheriff's deputies are asking the public not to go out and search for Deorr Kunz because it may detract the dogs from finding the boy's scent, The Associated Press reported.

The boy has blonde bushy hair and was wearing a camouflage jacket, blue pajama pants and cowboy boots.

Chief deputy Steve Penner says deputies are returning to square one and starting over after four days of unsuccessful searching.
