Two former bodyguards for New England Patriot quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen were convicted in Costa Rica for attempted murder after shooting at paparazzi during an event celebrating the couple's 2009 wedding.
Miguel Solis and Alexander Rivas also must pay $10,000 to the photographers along with their five-year prison sentences,
according to the Washington Post. The ruling was handed down Nov. 15,
reported E! News.
The newspaper reported that a third man charged in the incident was acquitted. The Post reported that during the couple's celebration at a secluded beachfront in Costa Rica on April 4, 2009, Solis and Rivas fired on photographers after demanding their camera's memory cards and ordering them away from the event. The couple are parents to son Benjamin, 3, and daughter Vivian, 8 months. Brady has a son Jack, 6, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, 43.
