Tom Brady’s No. 12 Super Bowl jersey appeared to have been stolen when he returned to the locker room Sunday night after hoisting his fourth MVP trophy following the New England Patriots’ come-from-behind overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Brady told Patriots owner Robert Kraft that “someone stole my game jersey,” Fox News. noted, and got a cryptic reply:
“You better look online,” Kraft responded.
“It was right here. I know exactly where I put it,” Brady said when he returned to the locker room, according to USA Today.
“This is not good,” he said. “It was right here and now I don’t have it. Not good.”
Despite reports that a Patriots equipment manager had locked the jersey away following the game, Brady told the media at a press conference early Monday morning that he still hadn’t found his jersey, said ABC News.
“Those are pretty special ones to keep…What can you do. I’ll take the ring and that’s good enough for me,” Brady said.
As Brady walked toward the team bus late on Sunday night, he told the media that his missing jersey would “be on eBay at some point,” USA Today noted.
