Tom Hanks' Son Trashed Room in London After Night of Drinking

Tom Hanks’ son allegedly trashed a London hotel room recently, causing more than $1,800 in damages.

“Police were called at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, May 29, by a member of staff at the Arora International Hotel in Crawley to a report that a guest had caused an estimated £1,200 of damage to a hotel room,” Sussex police told People magazine this week.

British authorities are now in search of 24-year-old Chester Hanks, who is also known by his rapper name Chet Haze.

“We have been given the name of the suspect,” police told the New York Post’s Page Six. “We are working with other agencies to try to trace him so he can be interviewed.”

Page Six reported that the television in the four-star room had been ripped from the wall and shattered glass was scattered across the floor and furniture.

Hanks told the Daily Mirror in a text that the claims are “a slanderous bold-faced lie.”

The Mirror said that Hanks spent the night drinking champagne and vodka in a VIP lounge and later returned to his room with three women. A source told the newspaper that Hanks got sick in the parking lot before returning to the room, screaming and yelling.

“He asked the girls if they would join him in the bed, but they are not like that. So he started screaming and making a right noise," the source told the Mirror. "He saw some sprinkled make-up called banana powder and started asking ‘who’s got the coke?’ But nobody did drugs there. Then he started shouting that he was not going to share it with another man.”

Airline pilots eventually complained to the hotel about the noise, forcing the receptionist to ask Hanks to be quieter.

“Then all you could hear was this smashing and crashing,” the source said. “Next morning he was gone but the room was trashed. Everything was smashed and there was glass all over the floor.”

In November, Hanks posted on Instagram that he has struggled with substance abuse since the age of 16, but was 50 days sober.

Last week, the aspiring rapper took to Instagram to defend his use of the "N-word" in lyrics.

“I don't accept society getting to decide what anybody can or can't say,” Hanks said in a video clip, but his account was later deleted.
