Tony Finau, the golfer who dislocated his ankle while celebrating his hole-in-one during the Masters par-three tournament Wednesday, was cleared to play in the season's first major at Augusta National, according to Sporting News.
His agent, Chris Armstrong, said Finau had gone for an MRI Thursday morning, which showed no structural damage, and that he would be able to play should he be able to manage the pain.
Armstrong told ESPN that the 28-year-old golfer planned to tee off with Bernhard Langer and Yuta Ikeda in the first round of the Masters at 12:43 p.m. Eastern.
The injury came after Finau made an ace on the seventh hole in front of his wife and children.
In celebration, Finau broke into a celebratory dance down the fairway, but the ecstasy was cut short when he rolled his left ankle and collapsed, CNN reported.
He popped the dislocated ankle back into place and continued to play in the event before going for X-rays, which revealed there was no break.
Finau later tweeted about the ordeal, calling it a "crazy day," and thanking friends, family and supporters for their "thoughts of concern, messages and prayers."
He added that he was feeling "optimistic" about the injury.
Sporting News reported that Finau was spotted on the practice range Thursday morning, hitting easy wedges and tentatively testing his weight on the left ankle.
