Trace Adkins' Wife Files for Divorce Due to Cheating: Report

Trace Adkins' wife of 17 years filed for divorce last week, citing "irreconcilable differences," but now several celebrity gossip sites are reporting that the split actually stemmed from a fling between the country music star and Canadian actress Victoria Pratt.

Citing an earlier article from the National Enquirer, RadarOnline.com reported that the 52-year-old Adkins met Pratt while filming the movie "The Virginian" last spring, which led to a series of suggestive tweets by the 43-year-old actress that the online gossip website claims eventually evolved into an actual extramarital affair.

Following "The Virginian," Adkins went on to join the cast of Donald Trump’s "Celebrity Apprentice" in New York City. During the reality TV show’s run, Pratt appeared to have remained a loyal fan of the Louisiana-born country music star, as illustrated by a complimentary tweet following his win on the show.

The tweets, particularly the sponge bath mention, did not go unnoticed in the Adkins home.

According to Radar Online, Adkins replied to Pratt in a tweet of his own, telling the actress, "My Old Lady just gave me a mean look," to which Pratt reportedly responded "Bahaha!! You’re lucky that’s all she gave you!!!"

Five days after the online exchange, Adkins hosted Pratt as his guest of honor at the Stage Coach music festival in Indio, Calif., Radar Online noted.

A source close to Adkins’ wife Rhonda told the National Enquirer that "several months ago, Rhonda suspected he was cheating on her so she confronted him during marriage counseling."

"Trace denied the cheating for a very long time, but she continued to wear him down until he finally told her everything," the source continued. "Rhonda was completely humiliated by Trace’s bragging to buddies. And when his fans find out about all the women he’s been cheating with, he’ll become known as the Tiger Woods of country music."

In her divorce filing, Rhonda Adkins is seeking primary residential custody of the couple's three daughters, ages 9, 12, and 16, as well as financial support, The Tennessean reported.

Aside from the alleged affair, Adkins has also battled alcoholism. In January, People magazine reported that Adkins checked himself into a rehab clinic after he got into a fight on a cruise ship with an impersonator singing karaoke on the country music-themed getaway.
