The Twitter account of Twitter CFO Anthony Noto was hacked Tuesday.

Tweets that appeared to be spam — about 296 sent over an eight-minute period — were sent from Noto’s account, including links to another website, CNBC reported.

The account, @anthonynoto, was locked and the suspicious tweets, which were sent as auto-replies, were deleted.

The company hasn’t said what may have caused the hack. The messages included such things as “I can't stop laughing!" and "this pic of you is funny lol." These sorts of messages typically are spread when a user clicks on a link, spreading it to everyone in their contact list, Fast Company reported.

Twitter spokesman Jim Prosser said there is no sign that any account information was stolen.

The hack is the latest in a string of misfortune for the company. Also on Tuesday, the Twitter accounts of Newsweek magazine and other news organizations were compromised with threatening messages directed to President Obama and his family. A pro-ISIS group called CyberCaliphate claimed responsibility.

Last year, Noto accidentally sent a private message to his public Twitter followers.

Twitter users shared mixed reactions.
