Ordering takeout? There's a chance your delivery guy has been sneaking bites of your food, a new study has found.
The revelation is something most people would prefer not to know about. Until now, we have been blissfully unaware of the fact that a stranger may have been nibbling at our food, but U.S. Foods has exposed the cold hard truth in its latest survey, the New York Post noted.
The findings are based upon the responses of 1,518 American adults who have used food delivery apps such as Uber Eats, Grubhub, DoorDash, and Postmates, as well as 497 American adults who have worked as a delivery person for at least one of these apps.
Nearly 30% of food delivery app messengers confessed they have snacked on customers' foods and more than 50% admitted that the smell of the food has at least tempted them to take a nibble.
At least 60% of food deliverers said they have received bad tips, and sometimes have not received one at all.
