Was there a UFO over Toronto on Saturday night? Flashing, flying lights over the city this weekend resulted in several phones calls to police and online speculation that the city was visited by UFOs.
Videos and photos of the lights showed up online as some people questioned whether it might have been an alien visitation, while others offered definitive opinions otherwise.

On one YouTube video where the object has a distinct triangular shape, a commenter wrote, “It's a drone, my bro has one he put led lights on it and it looked exactly like that. Drones can go up to 1000ft and they can be controlled from any smartphone or tablet.”
Another video showed one bright light overhead, flashing on and off, and then shifted to show a line of lights looking much closer to the cityscape.
One person said he had an explanation for the line of
UFO-looking lights, explaining to CTV News that kids in the park in North York were getting ready to launch a kite with a light kit attached.
"After it got dark, a couple of hours later, I notice a line of lights," he told the news channel via email. "(It) looked like a very potent laser pointing vertical to the sky, but it was the kite these people were preparing."

Others online suggested it could have been someone playing with laser lights and bouncing them off the clouds.
And a few took the opportunity to make online jokes about Toronto’s Mayor Rob Ford.
“Just be glad they didn't ask to be taken to our leader... What an intergalactic embarrassment THAT would have been! :)”
one person wrote on the Toronto Star’s article.
