V. Stiviano, the alleged mistress of Donald Sterling, has filed a $10 million defamation suit accusing the embattled former L.A. Clippers owner of using her as a "beard" to hide his supposed homosexuality from the public.
TMZ Sports obtained the lawsuit Thursday, which was filed in L.A. County Superior Court. It responds in part to allegations made by Donald Sterling's estranged wife, Shelly, who insists that Donald did not have the authority to lavish Stiviano with the gifts he did because the money and items were community property of the married couple.
In the defamation suit, Stiviano claims she was "not ever a sexual partner of Donald T. Sterling" and "believes that [Sterling] is a homosexual and enjoys sexual acts and or sexual congress with males." It is unclear why Stiviano differentiates between sexual "acts" and "congress."

Moreover, she says in the suit that Shelly Sterling was aware of the exchange of gifts for her "beard" services. Not explained, however, is why Sterling would need to be double bearded — with both a wife and mistress.
Shelly Sterling was "acutely aware of [Donald's] sexual orientation and condoned same as well as acknowledged and approved [Donald's] gifts of money [to Stiviano]," according to the lawsuit.
Stiviano makes it clear that although Shelly Sterling was aware of the gifts, the gifts were not community property, but property of Donald's alone. However, if the property was his and only his, and thus his to give away freely, what does the nature of her and Donald's relationship have to do with anything?
