Former Bond girl Valerie Leon is sharing details of an intimate love scene with Sean Connery, the original onscreen James Bond star who passed away on Oct. 31 at age 90. In 1983's "Never Say Never Again," Leon, who played Lady in Bahamas, and Connery have a bed scene together.
Speaking with the U.K.’s "This Morning," the 76-year-old admitted that she was nervous about filming the scene but Connery was able to make her feel more while cameras were rolling.
"I did have this bed scene with him which I was quite worried about," Leon said, according to Daily Mail. "Despite my age, I had never done a bed scene on film, that’s for sure," she continued. "So I was quite worried about that, but he did put me at ease for it."
Leon also recounted how Connery quickly jumped out of bed when his wife, Micheline Roquebrune, arrived on set during the scene.
"Filming does take a long time and he is a perfectionist," she said. "He did stay in bed all morning. However, when his wife came in the afternoon to watch, he could not get out of bed quick enough! He was the world’s greatest sex symbol, so no wonder I was worried about going to bed with the world’s greatest sex symbol but he put me at ease."
Connery passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in the Bahamas following a battle with dementia. Roquebrune revealed that the degenerative disease had taken its toll on her husband.
"He got his final wish to slip away without any fuss," she said. "It was no life for him. He was not able to express himself latterly."
