Las Vegas opened the world's highest observation Ferris wheel on Monday, giving new meaning to being a high roller in Sin City.
The High Roller Ferris wheel, built by Caesar Entertainment, gives those who are willing the shell out the $24.95 per ride a one of the kind view of the Vegas strip at 550 feet at its highest point,
according to USA Today.
"It's really an art piece on the Las Vegas skyline, from the dynamic lighting sequences to the overall engineering and architecture that it adds to the skyline," Jon Gray, vice president and general manager of The LINQ, the entertainment district where the wheel was built, told USA Today. "It's a new icon that everyone, locals and tourists alike, have embraced. We've really enhanced the Las Vegas skyline."

The High Roller, which stands 100 feet taller that the London Eye according to a news release about the wheel, has 28 glass-enclosed cabins that can accommodate 40 people during the 30 minutes it takes to make a full rotation.
Steve Sisolak, chairman of the Clark County Commission that governs the Strip,
told The Associated Press that he believes that the wheel will become a must-see stop in Las Vegas.
"You can see the entire valley," said Sisolak. "This is going to be one of those things everyone who comes to Las Vegas is going to want to do."
The Ferris wheel is another feature that Las Vegas hopes will attract more families more the vacation spot. The iconic Circus Circus opened a new roller coaster in March while the ziplines are being opened by the The Rio and Slotzilla.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the wheel's claim as the world's tallest, or even tallest in the United States, will be short lived. In 2016, the New York Wheel is expected to open Labor Day on Staten Island, soaring riders 630 feet for a panoramic view of the city's skyline, wrote the Times.
Not to be outdone, Dubai Eye is also being planned that will rise 689 feet in that city, reported the Times.
