VP Debate: 11 Images of Pence, Kaine's Feisty Head-to-Head

Many didn't expect Tuesday night's vice-presidential debate between the GOP's Mike Pence and Democrat Tim Kaine to pack the punch of a Donald Trump-Hillary Clinton match-up, but the running mate head-to-head boasted some fireworks of its own.

The governor of Indiana and the Virginia senator squared off at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia, in a jam-packed debate on everything from abortion and religious views to nuclear power and Iran to their respective candidates' scandals.

By many accounts, Pence came out on top, appearing measured and cool while Kaine came across as interrupting and rehearsed.

"Pence won handily," political strategist Dick Morris said Tuesday on the "Newsmax TV Vice Presidential Debate Special." "He won in a way that really reflected credit on Trump and discredit on Hillary Clinton . . . Kaine seemed supercilious, and Pence seemed earnest . . . In the course of that supercilious, one-upmanship, gotcha-kind-of-pettiness, Kaine revealed the weakness of the Hillary campaign."
