Friends Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez are mourning the death of Paul Walker this week after the 40-year-old actor died in a car crash on Saturday in Southern California.

Diesel, who appeared with Walker in several "Fast and Furious" movies, reportedly shared a friendship with the late actor both on and off the screen.

On Monday night, Diesel appeared at the crash site where he referred to Walker as a "brother" while addressing the late actor's fans who were there holding a vigil.

"'If he could see for himself that all of you have showed up to show my brother love at this hard time, and that his family gets to see all of you show the love that you've shown Paul, it's gonna stay with me forever," Diesel said on a police loudspeaker in a video posted by KTLA 5. "I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciated him. Thank you."

Earlier in the day, Diesel quoted poet Thomas Campbell in a Facebook post, writing: "To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die.

"Pablo, I wish you could see the world right now ... and the profound impact, your full life has had on it, on Us ... on me ... I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were ... on and off screen," Diesel's post read.

Fellow "Fast and Furious" co-star Michelle Rodriguez also remembered Walker on Monday through a Facebook post, writing, "I'm gonna carry this torch for you brother, with a forced smile on my face and Im gonna open my heart just cause your telling me to."

Rodriguez posted a similar message on Twitter, after tweeting out a picture of herself and Walker sharing an embrace.

Other former "Fast and Furious" costars remembered Walker in the days following his tragic death including Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson aka "The Rock," and Tyrese Gibson, who broke down in tears at the crash site on Sunday.

Walker was reportedly riding in his friend's two-seater Porsche Carrera GT Saturday when the driver lost control and hit a lamp post. The car reportedly exploded, killing both Walker and the driver Roger Rodas.

Walker is survived by his 15-year-old daughter Meadow.
