Willie Robertson, a star on the reality show "Duck Dynasty," will join Fox News as a paid correspondent on Monday with the introduction of his own radio podcast, according to
The Daily Beast. He will make appearances across Fox News programming.
The 45-minute weekly podcast show for Fox News Radio will highlight Robertson's views on politics, celebrities, faith and family, among other subjects, said
The Wrap.
Robertson is chief executive of Duck Commander, the million-dollar duck call business based in West Monroe, Louisiana, started by his father Phil Robertson, per the
Duck Commander website.
"The topics would be a natural for Robertson, who has made no secret of his Christian beliefs and conservative values," said The Wrap, noting he is a supporter of Donald Trump for president.
Willie Robertson announced his support for Trump during a Las Vegas outdoors awards show in Las Vegas in January. Phil Robertson supports Ted Cruz.
"He's not afraid to tell it like it is," Robertson said of Trump then, according to a
news release. "He's a friend of the Second Amendment…the man I'm standing behind to be the next President of the United States – Donald Trump."
Fox News and Trump have had a strained relationship, especially over the Republican frontrunner's long-running feud with talk show host Megyn Kelly, noted
Deadline.com.
Phil Robertson in January endorsed Cruz for president, noted
Fox News.
"My qualifications for president of the United States are rather narrow: Is he or she Godly, does he or she love us, can he or she do the job, and finally would they kill a duck and put him in a pot and make him a good duck gumbo?" Phil Robertson said about Cruz then. "Cruz fits the bill."
Willie Robertson is also the executive producer of "Duck Dynasty" and the Outdoor Channel's "Buck Commander," according to his Duck Commander biography. His daughter Sadie Robertson finished second to Alfonso Riberio on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2014, noted
The Blaze.
