Rapper Wiz Khalifa was arrested Sunday after attempting to smuggle marijuana through a Texas airport, and subsequently posted a selfie from jail.
Khalifa recently released an album titled "28 Grams," however he was ultimately found by the police to possess only 0.5,
according to People magazine. That was enough for a misdemeanor charge, however. Too bad he wasn't in Colorado.
Acknowledging the connection to the new album title he tweeted about the irony of the situation, even though it was technically not ironic, but apt, fitting, or apposite. Some wordsmith. Perhaps singer-songwriter Alanis Morrisette will explain it to him someday.
The 26-year-old rapper, born Cameron Thomaz in Minot, North Dakota, is famous for his song "Black and Yellow," and is no stranger to puffing the magic dragon. In the song, he raps, "Stay high like how I'm supposed to do . . . smoke weed, count stacks, get fly."
According to The Associated Press, El Paso police reported that Khalifa was stopped by Transportation Security Administration agents because he didn't possess any identification, and was found in possession of the illicit drug upon being searched.

Like so many of the great musicians of yester yore busted for small-time drug offenses — Paul McCartney, Fiona Apple, Bowie, Santana, and every 80s hair-metal band ever — he was promptly released after posting a meager bail sum, in this case $300.
He then boarded a private jet, and headed off to perform at the Soundset Festival in Minnesota.
By late Monday night, he was back to his old ways, Tweeting out a link to a picture of his new stash, bringing new meaning to the word "Instagram."
