Wonder Woman YouTube Short Film Has Fans Wanting More (Video)

An intriguing short film featuring Wonder Woman grabbed more than 1.4 million views on YouTube in just one day – and generated an outpouring of reaction from fans who want a Wonder Woman movie.

Rainfall Films, a Los Angeles production company, announced at Comic-Con it would produce the film on what many superhero fans believe is a neglected character.

The reaction to the film, which features Rileah Vanderbilt as Wonder Woman, certainly gives validity to the company’s decision to make the 2:34 minute film.

“We spent the majority of 2013 working on this — the look, the feel, the aspects we most wanted to portray,” director Sam Balcomb said on the YouTube posting. “It's a scant two and half minutes, but in the end, it's one hundred and fifty seconds of pure fantasy, where I get to consider the two sides of my favorite warrior: a crusader in man's world, and a paragon of virtue told through Greek mythology.”

Almost immediately fans began slinging praise for the beautiful superhero around the Internet, pumping up support for allowing Wonder Woman a shot at the big screen.

Lauren wrote on a Nerdist.com story, “OMG!! ... This is the perfect representation of WW!!! And this is the first actress I have seen playing her that I think is perfect since Linda Carter!!! This def needs to be made into a legit movie!!!”

Tweets popped up hyping the quality of the film and the possibilities it raises for the DC character:

Some commenters did take the opportunity to criticize the film’s slow-motion sequences and the fact that it was primarily a fight scene, giving no story line. But they were immediately besieged with others who stood up for the film’s potential.

Clearly, many are ready to shell out the ticket price to see Wonder Woman kick some tail in theaters.
