The world’s tallest man married a woman who is 2 feet shorter than him on Sunday, but said she's "the person for me."
Sultan Kosen, from Turkey, married Mervi Dibo, a Syrian woman whose 5 feet 8 inches comes in far below her new husband’s 8-foot 3-inch frame.

“How unfortunate I could not find a suitable girl of my own size,”
Kosen told United Press International. “My fiancée is over 1.75 meteres tall, but I believe I’ve found the person for me.”
Kosen went into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2009 for his exceptional height, which was caused by a tumor that impacted his pituitary gland. Along with being the world’s tallest man, Kosen is noted in Guinness for his 9-inch wide hands and feet that are more than 14 inches long.
The Mirror posted wedding photos of the happy couple, showing Kosen in a suit especially made for his large body and size 28 shoes. His bride is just slightly taller than his waist.
In 2009, when Kosen was entered into the Guinness World Records, he told that organization he hoped the attention he was attracting as the world’s tallest man would help him find a bride.
“It’s really difficult to find a girlfriend,” Kosen told Guinness. “They are usually scared of me. Hopefully now that I'm famous I'll be able to meet lots of girls. My dream is to be married.”
Kosen and Dibo met through a friend and she traveled from Syria to Turkey to meet him, Guinness reported. They have only been dating two months but are confident in their future together.
“At first everyone around me told me not to marry him because of his height, but I fell in love with his heart, not his height,” Dibo told Guinness. “His height doesn’t bother me at all.”
