The War on Christmas has taken a decidedly ugly turn in of all places Fox Square.

Around midnight, a crazed lunatic set a giant, 50-foot-tall Christmas tree on fire outside the headquarters of Fox News Channel in New York City.

“This is the Fox Square in New York, outside of Fox headquarters,” Shannon Bream told viewers shortly after midnight. “It appears that our giant Christmas tree there, just a couple of minutes ago, was completely engulfed in flames.”
Video of the attack, which you can see on my website, was simply horrifying. Giant flames consumed the tree as smoke billowed high above the streets of midtown Manhattan.
Police arrested a suspect who is reportedly homeless and has a criminal record.
Suzanne Scott, the chief executive officer of Fox News Media, condemned the disgusting incident in a company-wide memorandum.
“We will not let this deliberate and brazen act of cowardice deter us,” Ms. Scott said. “We are in the process of rebuilding and installing a new tree as a message that there can be peace, light and joy even during a dark moment like this.”

Bravo to Ms. Scott for refusing to cower to the anti-Christmas crowd. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to that mob.

In recent days Christmas trees have been set on fire in Oakland, Calif., in Jack London Square.

And in Chicago, a Christmas tree in Washington Square was torched in what police are calling an act of arson.

I warned Americans about this sort of violence in my book, “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation.”

Democrats and atheists are to blame for the toxicity of the yuletide season. For decades their minions have waged an unholy war against Christmas trees, candy canes and the Baby Jesus.

Organizations like the Freedom From Religion Foundation and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation have been at the forefront of a movement that has targeted the singing of Christmas carols in public schools and Nativity scenes on military bases.

Nothing triggers an atheist faster than the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

The good news is that this evil jihad on our culture is in vain.

No matter how many trees the godless heathens might burn, no matter how many Nativity scenes they might banish, they will never be able to cancel Christmas.

That’s because Jesus is the reason for the season.
