Caesar Peter Abutin of Norwalk, California, has been charged with fraud after prosecutors say he voted in several elections using the name of his dead mother.
The Los Angeles Times reported that prosecutors say Abutin, 55, pretended to be his mother in three elections between Oct. 2012 and Nov. 2014. His 67-year-old mother had passed away in July 2006.
Abutin, 55, also voted in the elections using his own identity.
CBSLA reported that if convicted, Abutin could face up to three years in state prison. Abutin has pleaded not guilty.
