Anderson Cooper: Hosting 'Live!' With Kelly Ripa 'Would Be a Dream'

CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper said it "would be a dream" to co-host ABC's "Live! With Kelly and Michael" alongside Kelly Ripa.

While appearing on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen, Cooper said, "Listen, I love Kelly and I think that show is… Kelly is the heart and soul of that show and it's going to go on and continue to be great and I wish Michael the best in his new endeavor," according to E! Online.

But when asked about taking the job, Cooper replied: "I'm very happy at CNN. It would be a dream to work with Kelly, but nobody's offering anything, so…"

Cooper guest-hosted "Live" with Ripa in 2011 when Ripa sought a new co-host after Regis Philbin left, according to a report on CNN.

However, he added that he would be interested in the co-host job saying, "I'm always open to new opportunities."
