Erin Burnett: Benghazi Debate Has Become Like Abortion

By    |   Thursday, 15 May 2014 07:30 AM EDT

The fight over Benghazi has become so intense that it is like the abortion debate, says CNN's Erin Burnett.

Burnett moderated a heated debate that eventually turned to Benghazi. Republican National Committee spokesman Sean Spicer and Media Matters for America founder David Brock each accused the other side of politicizing the issue.

Spicer accused the White House of withholding information while Brock countered that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney made it political before the attack was even over.

Burnett then broke in, saying, "All I have to say about Benghazi is what’s sad is that it’s become like abortion. No one even listens anymore. And there were four dead Americans, and no one has been held accountable. And it has become a thing where whatever side you take you’re just a polemicist. It’s pretty sad."
