Billy Graham's Health Frail, But Vitals Are Still Good

By    |   Monday, 09 December 2013 01:52 PM EST

The health of the Rev. Billy Graham, who recently turned 95, has continued to decline although his vital signs remain "quite good," his spokesman says.

Mark DeMoss told the Charlotte Observer on Monday that Graham has gotten weaker since his birthday, but he is "not in any imminent danger."

DeMoss' comments followed an interview last week with the evangelist's son, Franklin Graham. "He got an infection right after his birthday, and he just hasn't been able to get his strength back. His vitals are good. He's just extremely weak. You're always concerned when somebody’s that age," Franklin Graham told WSOC-TV.

He said he wasn't even sure his frail father was aware that former South African President Nelson Mandela had died.

Billy Graham's birthday was celebrated Nov. 7 at a star-studded gala at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C. Guests included Donald Trump and Sarah Palin.

Graham has been hospitalized twice since October, suffering from respiratory congestion.
