Bob Beckel, one of Fox News' resident Democrats, says he was asked whether he had any interest in running the Democratic National Committee.
He said no.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz currently holds that job, but is expected to be on the way out soon, Mediaite's
Joe Concha writes.
Beckel made the claim Thursday on
"The Five," where is a a co-host. He declined to say who asked him about his interest in replacing Wasserman Schultz, and was challenged by co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle, who said, "You're making it up."
"I'm not making it up," Beckel insisted. "Somebody asked me if I thought it was something I'd want to do. I don't want to do it."
Beckel has a long resume in Democratic politics, including running Walter Mondale's 1984 presidential campaign.
