President Barack Obama, fresh off a
poll that ranked him the nation's worst chief executive since World War II, is looking "feeble" on everything from the border crisis to the rise of ISIS in Iraq, says Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume.
Obama looked like he had an idea last week to ask Congress to change the law that prevents illegal immigrants from non-contiguous countries from being swiftly returned home, Hume said Monday on Fox News Channel's
"The O'Reilly Factor."
Now Obama has changed his mind.
"Which suggests to me that he's in no hurry to solve the problem," Hume said. "This is a pretty feeble response by a man who, on this issue, is looking pretty feeble indeed."
Hume and host Bill O'Reilly also discussed what they termed Obama's failure in Iraq, where the al-Qaida offshoot ISIS has taken over several northern Iraqi cities, proclaiming an Islamic caliphate.
Hume said Obama doesn't see Iraq as a failure because the president's goal there was to pull out all U.S. troops, which he has done.
Obama, Hume said, seems more unwilling to alienate his base than any previous president.
O'Reilly suggested that Obama and his staffers must realize he is set to go down in history as one of the five worst presidents in history.
"He's certainly in the running," Hume said.
But Fox News White House Correspondent Ed Henry told O'Reilly that people in the Obama White House still think history will vindicate him, based on the Affordable Care Act and what they believe to be a growing economy.
