Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton would have preferred to have seen her mother, Hillary Clinton, in the Oval Office, but Wednesday she fired back at critics of President Donald Trump who do not think his family should receive Secret Service protection.

Critics have complained Trump has wasted money traveling to his Mar-a-Lago resort in South Florida almost every weekend since his inauguration and first lady Melania Trump and 11-year-old Barron Trump require extra protection as they have continued to live in their Manhattan home atop Trump Tower as Barron finished out the school year.

Others on Twitter told Clinton that Trump's grown children have abused the taxpayer-funded protection while traveling the world to pursue their business interests.

But Clinton was having none of it, responding to at least two people.

The Secret Service requested an extra $60 million in February to protect the Trump family, but the request was rejected by the Office of Management and Budget, The Washington Post reported in March.
