CNN host Chris Cuomo had a heated interview Monday night with a spokesperson for President Donald Trump's campaign who accused the anchor of breaking quarantine after being diagnosed with the coronavirus last spring.
At one point in Cuomo's interview with Trump spokesman Tim Murtaugh, Murtaugh referred to recent reports that the CNN anchor was warned by his apartment building that he had been spotted entering and exiting without wearing a mask.
"Why did you get reprimanded from your apartment building for not wearing a mask? We know you broke quarantine," Murtaugh said.
"Because I did the wrong thing," Chris Cuomo replied. "I never broke quarantine."
"Everyone knows you broke it," Murtaugh said.
"I did not," Cuomo said.
Murtaugh later added, "And then you came home and you pretended to rise up from your basement like Lazarus."
The anchor said, "You want to mock my getting sick, you can."
Murtaugh denied that he was mocking Cuomo's illness, but Cuomo responded: "Of course you are. Of course you are. I never broke quarantine and you know it."
The interview first became heated after Murtaugh claimed that the host's brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, said the state got "everything they needed" from Trump in the spring.
"No. He said, 'I went to the federal government. They helped me with things.' They did not help with everything. They're still not helping," Cuomo said.
