Fifty-five percent of Americans believe the federal government has done a poor job of preventing the spread of coronavirus, while 41% say it has done a good job, according to a new CNN poll.

A CNN survey conducted about a week earlier had found 48% said the federal government was doing a good job with the coronavirus, while 47% said it was doing poorly.

Here are the highlights from the new poll results released on Wednesday.

  • 80% say the worst is yet to come from the coronavirus pandemic, while 17% say the worst is behind us.
  • 69% say the federal government should be doing more to address the shortage of personal protective equipment and medical devices used in the treatment of coronavirus, while 28% say it is doing enough.
  • 78% say they do not know of someone who had been diagnosed with coronavirus, compared to 22% who say they do.
  • 50% say that it is unlikely that they or someone in their family will contract coronavirus, while 46% say is it likely.
  • 51% disapprove of the way President Donald Trump is handling his job, compared to 44% who approve.

The poll, conduct April 3-6, surveyed 1,002 adults. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.
