George W. Bush says there's only one way to find out how his brother Jeb would be different from him as president: elect him.
Appearing Monday on Fox News Channel's
"On the Record with Greta Van Susteren" to promote his new book,
"41: A Portrait of My Father," Bush was asked how he and Jeb, the former governor of Florida, would differ should Jeb Bush decide to seek the Republican nomination in 2016.
Bush noted that Jeb graduated Phi Beta Kappa in just two-and-a half years at the University of Texas. George W. Bush spent his eight years in office the brunt of comedians' jokes about his verbal gaffes.
"Obviously, we're a little different," George W. Bush joked.
But he said both he and Jeb love their country and neither fears failure. Jeb, he said, also doesn't fear success.
Bush said he has no idea whether Jeb will run or even which way he is leaning. But he gave a hint at what he might like to see, while also displaying some of the humor of his father, former President George H.W. Bush:
"Hopefully, we'll have a chance to compare — you'll have a chance to compare — once he gets to be president," Bush said.
Last week, Bush told Hannity he still would like Bill Clinton "when Jeb beats Hillary."
