McDonald's announced Monday it will be joining other restaurants in closing its in-restaurant dining in wake of the coronavirus crisis.
The policy, which goes into effect at the close of business Monday, affects company-owned restaurants, according to a statement released by McDonald's USA. Orders will still be taken at the counter by walk-in and drive-through customers.
Starbucks has already implemented a drive-through only policy.
According to Reuters, McDonald's also is closing all Playplaces effective Monday. Independently owned franchises are strongly encouraged to follow suit, according to Reuters.
