Two precinct clerks were fired on Tuesday at a polling center in Pompano Beach, Florida, ABC News affiliate WPLG reports.

According to Broward County election officials, the clerks did not follow proper "procedure and policy," which led to their termination, but did not offer any details. The clerks were replaced by an assistant clerk.

In 2012, President Barack Obama won the county by 35 percentage points over Republican candidate Mitt Romney, according to The Hill.

NBC Miami reports that deputies were initially called over allegations of voter intimidation against poll watchers for each party, leading to the two clerks, one a Republican and the other a Democrat, to begin arguing.

According to NBC Miami, voting has continued uninterrupted. Due to a large number of early voters, officials expect moderate or light turnout on Election Day.
