Rush: Striking Fast Food Workers Should Blame Obama

By    |   Thursday, 29 August 2013 05:07 PM EDT

The fast food workers striking for higher wages should blame the policies of President Barack Obama, Rush Limbaugh said Thursday.

"It's Obamacare. It's (President Barack) Obama's economy that they should be protesting. Obama's economy, Obamacare is what has led to whatever circumstances make them unhappy," Limbaugh said on his radio show.

"None of them blame Obama. They're just angry. I don't know who they're angry at, but they're down on America," Limbaugh said.

Protestors are asking for a wage of $15 per hour for fast food workers, nearly double the current minimum wage of $7.25. Thursday thousands of protestors took to the streets to voice their complaints outside restaurants including McDonalds, KFC, and Wendy's, Newsmax reported. The strike was planned for as many as 60 cities across the country, according to the Service Employees International Union.

"The point is that none of them blame Obama. They're livid," Limbaugh said. "They're not associating their plight with him (President Obama), and that is only going to change when the Republican Party decides to make a change."

Limbaugh pointed out that minimum wage is intended to be a beginning wage rate and not designed to support a family.

"That $7.25 an hour, is that intended to be to live on? It is an entry-level wage. It's an entry-level job. The minimum wage is not designed to be a wage that supports a family of one or four. It's entry level. "

The same blame would be placed directly at a Republican president, Limbaugh maintained.

"I guarantee you, if there were a Republican president in the White House, and everything else in this country were the same, everybody, led by the media, would be blaming the Republican president," he said.
