First she slammed the swap of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban terrorists, but now Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein wants to forgive and forget.
Last week, the California Democrat joined Republican lawmakers in criticizing the White House for not informing Congress about the trade as is required by law.
But
The Hill reported that Feinstein is backing away from her earlier statement.
"I think we need to put an end to all of this now. I think enough is enough,'' Feinstein said, according to The Hill.
"I think the Senate has had a hearing, and the House has had a hearing," she said. "Everybody has heard what they need to hear.''
Feinstein was not the only Democrat to blast the trading of Bergdahl, alleged to have deserted his unit before falling into the hands of the Taliban.
One of them, U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, told The Hill:
"My main concern is these five released prisoners. Was it a good deal or a bad deal? In my mind, it’s still a bad deal. I’m still concerned about the threat of these five having the expertise and high-level rankings to enter the fight again.''
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will testify about the trade before the House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday.
