It is easier to get a flight out of Billings, Montana than it is from one of the busiest airports in the country, New York’s JFK.
With the coronavirus slowing traveling, especially in the hard hit tri-state region, airlines have canceled hundreds of flights.
The major airline carriers have reduced their flight routes by 90 percent in the region, according to NBC New York.
On April 22, flight tracking website JetTip reported 77 flights departed Billings Logan International Airport in Montana. The airport beat out JFK’s 70 flights. The busiest airport that day was Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport with 330 reported departures.
Of the top 50 U.S. and Canadian commercial airports by traffic, JetTip said, JFK was last for daily departures. Nearby airports Newark Liberty International came in at 48 on the list and LaGuardia didn't even make it into the rankings.
