Glenn Beck: Political Correctness Trumps Safety on Ebola

By    |   Wednesday, 15 October 2014 09:06 PM EDT

The Obama administration is putting political correctness over public safety in handling the Ebola crisis, conservative commentator Glenn Beck tells Fox News Channel.

Beck appeared on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Wednesday and called for tougher quarantines to stop the virus' spread, arguing that quarantines have been considered normal "from the beginning of time."

He noted that after a nurse with Ebola flew on a commercial airline with a fever, possibly exposing other passengers, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now telling Americans who have been exposed to people with Ebola not to fly. At the same time, the government is dismissing calls to stop people from three west African nations at the heart of the outbreak from entering the United States.

"They're banning our citizens from flying, but they won't ban foreigners from flying into our country," Beck said. "It's madness"

"The president should be cautious," Beck added. "Safety first. But we're doing political correctness first."
