Dr. Harold Bornstein, who once served as President Donald Trump's personal physician, has died at the age of 73.
According to The New York Times, Bornstein died on Friday. No cause of death was given. He had been Trump's personal doctor from 1980 to 2017.
Bornstein, who had hoped to become White House physician, had a falling out with Trump in 2017, when he disclosed that the president was taking medication for hair growth.
The doctor had said the president takes finasteride, which is marketed as Propecia, as a treatment for male-pattern baldness.
He had first gained public attention in 2015 during Trump's campaign for the White House.
Trump had insinuated Hillary Clinton did not have the stamina to serve as president. In response to questions about his own health, Trump had ordered Bornstein to release a "full medical report."
In a letter, Bornstein declared Trump would be "the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency."
During a 2018 interview with CNN, Bornstein claimed the letter was composed by Trump.
"He dictated that whole letter," Bornstein said. "I didn't write that letter."
He had lived in Scarsdale, New York, and is survived by his wife and five children.
