After more than 20 years of lobbying by Holocaust charities, Amazon has finally banned most editions of Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf" for sale from its website, The Guardian reports.
The move is part of an overall ban on books written by Nazis, including a children's book meant to teach anti-Semitism to youths.
The Guardian reported, emails sent to retailers said "they can no longer offer this book" since it breaks Amazon's code of conduct.
Amazon had long defended sale of the books, saying they constituted free speech and were valuable for historical purposes, especially in allowing people to see into Hitler's thinking at the time.
Just last month Amazon said it was aware of concerns by the London-based Holocaust Educational Trust, but also was "mindful of book censorship throughout history" and was taking "concerns from the Holocaust Educational Trust seriously."
