As new images emerge of the
mass atrocities inflicted on civilians in Syria by the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, journalist and political analyst Juan Williams is blasting the Obama administration for its failure to take action.
"They're lost, they don't know what to do. That's why you hear all this talk about a range of options," he said on
Fox News' "Special Report" on Wednesday night.
"Apparently it does not include a military option. The option on the table from last week … is whether or not you let the Saudis get more involved. But if you allow the army of the rebels there, of course you have to worry that the weapons could slip into the hands of the very extremist al-Qaida affiliates that we know are among them.
"So I don't know exactly what their options are," Williams added. "I'd have to say at this moment the administration is rudderless."
His remarks come one week after
Sen. John McCain slammed Obama on Syria. Speaking on the Senate floor, the Arizona Republican said that the "future president" of the United States will have to apologize for not using "the power we possess" to help the Syrian people.
