Lance Armstrong's Former Teammates Meet With Investigators

Lance Armstrong’s former teammates have been meeting with investigators probing drug use by the seven-time Tour de France champion. Information from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency reveals that investigators have had meetings with "more than 10 cyclists as well as cycling team employees" about Armstrong's alleged doping, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The agency said Armstrong’s teams engaged in a "doping conspiracy" involving "team officials, employees, doctors, and elite cyclists," the Journal reported.

Armstrong, in a statement, called the charges "baseless, motivated by spite, and advanced through testimony bought and paid for by promises of anonymity and immunity." He has repeatedly denied doping and never failed a drug test.

Armstrong’s lawyer, Robert Luskin, sent a letter to the general counsel of anti-doping agency requesting more information about its case. He said Armstrong "was never told contemporaneously that he had ever failed any test," and that he had "successfully passed every test administered to him during that period," the Journal reported.
