Police in Las Vegas have arrested a man in connection with a July 16 burglary and a threatening note left at the office of Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev.
The suspect, Richard Holley, faces charges of extortion, burglary, and intimidation of a public officer, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced.
Holley, age 62, has Type 2 diabetes, and his wife has osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, as well as blood pressure and eye problems, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.
A note was left near the door of Heller's office on July 16 that contained a death threat against Heller regarding his voting to repeal and replace Obamacare.
"Sen. Heller, I am sick and will die without continued medical care. If I'm going to die because you voted to repeal or replace with a death bill, I will take you with me. If I'm going to die so are you," the note read, according to the Journal.
Heller wavered on whether he would support an Obamacare repeal, but ended up voting for the bill, which eventually failed and led to a drop in Heller's approval rating.
The Democratic National Committee has taken aim at Heller and launched a billboard campaign against him on Monday.
