Laura Ingraham lashed out at the news media and the Obama administration on her radio show Monday in the wake of a former CBS reporter's allegations that the network was biased toward the left.
"There has been a six-year-long game of hiding the ball on pretty much every major news story, except the few news stories that have been good for their political narrative, like the killing of Bin Laden,"
Ingraham said.
Ingraham addressed the topic because of what former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson wrote in her new book,
"Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama's Washington."
According to the
New York Post, Attkisson made several claims against the network, including how it dissuaded her from pursuing stories about the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi and the "Fast and Furious" gun-running scandal.
Attkisson also wrote that CBS executives asked her to stop appearing on Ingraham's "extremely, extremely far right" show.
"What is CBS News so afraid of?" asked Ingraham. "One would think that when their reporters are getting incredibly powerful support and coverage and promotion in other venues, that's a pretty big deal, right? This is a show that everyone from Mitt Romney to Bono has been on, for goodness sakes.
"What they do is they don't call her saying, 'great work, great work for advancing the narrative.' They call her up to tell her to not go on the show anymore.
"Where are the honest media people who call out this outrageous response by a so-called news organization? Are they all afraid? Are they all afraid of stepping on toes here? Are they afraid of losing their access to the Obama administration? You have no access to the Obama administration. Do you realize that? There is no access. They are giving you no access. There has been no transparency."
In her book and as reported by
The Blaze, Attkisson also says the government hacked into her work and personal computers and planted monitoring devices that recorded her activities.
She also writes that there were three classified documents implanted into the hard drive of one of her computers — possibly to be used against her at a later date.
