New York City’s Health Department deleted from its website Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s controversial March 25 order stating nursing homes shouldn’t turn away COVID-19 patients, reports Fox News.

“We're sorry, the page you are looking for is not found,” reads the web page where the directive was once located.

More than 5,300 New Yorkers living in nursing homes have died from the virus. Cuomo’s March directive by the state’s health department required nursing homes to accept recovering patients: “During this global health emergency, all NHs [nursing homes] must comply with the expedited receipt of residents returning from hospitals to NHs. Residents are deemed appropriate for return to a NH upon a determination by the hospital physician or designee that the resident is medically stable for return.

“Hospital discharge planners must confirm to the NH, by telephone, that the resident is medically stable for discharge. Comprehensive discharge instructions must be provided by the hospital prior to the transport of a resident to the NH.

'No resident shall be denied readmission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. NHs [Nursing homes] are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission.”

The governor rolled out new regulations just three weeks ago saying patients must test negative for the novel coronavirus before being readmitted, and later defended his earlier order by telling a reporter “nobody” should be prosecuted for deaths caused by COVID-19.

"We lost 139 people yesterday in hospitals. Who is accountable for those 139 deaths? How do we get justice for those families who had 139 deaths? What is justice? Who can we prosecute for those 139 deaths? Nobody," Cuomo said during a press conference on May 17.

"Mother Nature, God, where did this virus come from? People are going to die by this virus, that is the truth."
