A new web ad from the American Crossroads Super PAC assails the Obama administration’s handling of the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Libya,
Business Insider reported.
The ad shows clips of the attack and of a campaign rally held by President Barack Obama on the same day.
Obama is facing more questions about concerns about security that were aired in the months preceding the attack in Benghazi. The New York Times reported Monday that the aggressive response by Libyan security guards to a small bombing in June may have given the U.S. team a false sense of security about the preparedness for a bigger strike. He has also come under fire for his initial failure to call the attack an act of terror.
“What did President Obama do the same day of a terror attack on American citizens?” the narrator asks. “He campaigned in Las Vegas."
"When American embassies were attacked by terrorists, President Clinton responded with missiles," the narrator says. "And when foreign leaders needed to meet, President Bush put his campaign on hold. President Obama needs to learn being president isn't just about being on TV and protecting your job. It's about leadership. It's time for a president who gets it."
The ad notes that Obama skipped meetings with heads of state at the U.N. meeting in New York but managed to appear on “The View.”
