Rasmussen: 50% Predict Obama Win, 36% Romney

By    |   Tuesday, 18 September 2012 12:04 PM EDT

More voters still think President will be back in the White House for another four years, but they’re not quite as sure as they used to be.

A Rasmussen Reports poll released Tuesday finds that 50 percent of respondents think Obama will be re-elected in November, regardless of who they want to win. That compares to 36 percent who believe will triumph. Another 13 percent remain undecided.

But the president’s 14-percent lead is down from the 20-point margin he held last month, when 53 percent predicted he would win, compared to 33 percent who thought Romney would come out on top.

Democrats remain more confident in their candidate, with 84 percent saying they think Obama will win. Among Republicans, 68 percent believe Romney would be the victor.

The latest Rasmussen Reports poll of 1,000 likely voters was conducted Sept. 15-65 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent, with a 95 percent level of confidence.
