Bill O'Reilly: Obama Right to Insult Putin

By    |   Monday, 12 August 2013 11:00 PM EDT

Some Republicans didn't think it appropriate when President Barack Obama said in a Friday press conference that Russian President Vladimir Putin  has "got that kind of slouch, looking like the bored kid in the back of the classroom."

But Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly, usually not a fan of the liberal Democratic president, thought it was spot on.

"I like what President Obama said. I think it's accurate. Putin is an immature and irresponsible leader," he said Monday on "The O'Reilly Factor."

ObamaCare: You Can Win With The Facts

The time for detente with Putin is over, O'Reilly said. "How much more does he have to rub our faces in it?"

But guest Karl Rove disagreed.

"Vladimir Putin is a prickly personality, and the president needs to deal with him as the president," Rove said. "He was dealing with him in that news conference as a pundit."

O'Reilly countered, "There comes a point where you call out the schoolyard bully, and you slap him around a little bit."

"Only if he thinks that you're tough," Rove said. Putin sees Obama as weak after such actions as unilaterally canceling America's deal with Poland and the Czech Republic to build a missile defense system.

"Putin looks at him and says, he'll stab his friends in the back. He's weak," Rove said.
