A watchdog group StopAntisemitism has labeled conservative pundit Candace Owens "Antisemite of the Year," the New York Post reported Sunday.
"Candace Owens' witch's brew of antisemitism drew from vile medieval blood libels, including claims that Jews drink Christian blood, conspiracies that Jews are pedophiles who control the media and are 'taking over America,' and modern toxic anti-Israel hysteria," StopAntisemitism's founder, Liora Rez, said in a statement to The Post. "There is no psychotic rabbit hole too extreme for this poisonous hater."
Last month, Owens said on her show, "I feel like maybe [Israeli] prime minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu should've made the list because he's killed more semites than anybody — did we forget Palestinians are semites."
Owens, accolade comes amidst her growing criticism of Israel since the event of Oct. 7, 2023.
Rez went on to say of Owens that "This dishonor is awarded to the individual who has done the most to endanger the Jewish community, and in 2024, Candace Owens has tragically and decisively earned the title."
"Out of dozens of contenders," they added, "she blew the competition away with her relentless campaign of dangerous rhetoric targeting the Jewish community, earning more votes than any Antisemite of the Year we've ever named."
On Sunday evening, Owens posted to X about Israel's attack on the USS Liberty, which gained roughly 600,000 views in three hours.
"Man, I REALLY kicked the hornet's nest with this USS Liberty episode," she wrote. "They're like…super dee duper mad this time. Oh well. Luke 12:2."
The StopAntisemitism owner went on to say of Owens that "thankfully" she "has been disavowed by many of her former friends and allies. But she is a cautionary tale for our nation. Just as Candace has deteriorated into insanity and irrelevance, so does every civilization where antisemitism flourishes."
